Through its Federal Access Center (FAC), the Just Transition Fund provides grants and technical assistance to help coal-impacted communities access federal funding to support local economic transition. However, we also see the challenges associated with managing federal grants after an organization is able to access those funds. To help address these challenges, we are piloting an expansion of the FAC to offer a limited number of capacity grants to Tribal governments and organizations that are managing Tribal Broadband Connectivity grants through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
Your organization is eligible for this pilot program if:
- It serves coal-impacted Tribe(s)
- It receives funding (see list here) through Round 1 of the NTIA’s Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program to increase internet access for Tribal households
- You need additional capacity to effectively manage and implement the federal award you’ve received from NTIA’s
- Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program
Our support can include both grant funding to cover federal grants management costs including both staff time and/or contracted services from grants management experts as well as technical assistance.
