Plenty Doors Development Corporation: to support the development of the Apsáalooke Energy Justice Project
The decline in local coal revenue has led to significant job loss for the tribal employees on the Crow Reservation in Montana. Plenty Doors Development Corporation, in partnership with a number of other stakeholders including Little Big Horn College and Montana State University, have launched an initiative called the Apsáalooke Energy Justice Project. This collaborative effort seeks to engage the community to work toward the development of an Indigenous-owned utility company, while also training the workforce for jobs in sustainable energy and housing development. In addition to strengthening the workforce and economy, the project also has the potential to position the Apsáalooke Nation as a clean energy leader in the region.
