With support from the Just Transition Fund, officials in Becker, Minnesota started their planning process years before the first of three coal-fired power units was to be shuttered. Thanks in part to comprehensive technical assistance and support, this collaboration helped create a planning process that started early and prioritized inclusion and creative thinking. Now, Becker has begun attracting new businesses to their community to help offset the impact of future plant closures.
